The public water fountain was built in 1775 by Ioseppo Bisazzio on the southeast of St. Mark's Church. It is still used today for refreshment from the summer heat. The work is significant because of the coat-of-arms that is still used as the official symbol of the town of Makarska, which has been carved on its right side.

The Kotiština Botanical Garden is located on the coastal slopes of Biokovo Mountain above the village of Kotiština at an altitude of 350-500 meters. It is an integral part of Biokovo Nature Park. It is not a botanical garden in a classical sense, where every plant is introduced according to specific rules, but is conceived as a "fenced part of nature" where natural forms of vegetation with self-fertilized flora are to be retained. The Garden is most luxuriant and full of colorful flowers in springtime and in early summer, but some hidden flowers can also be found during the rest of the year. The plants are labeled, while footpaths and educational panels are leading the way through the Garden.

The Malacological Museum of the Franciscan monastery was founded in 1963 by Fra Jure Radić. With its attractive collection of sea snails and shells from the Adriatic Sea, as well as from the rest of the world, it is the most famous malacological collection in Croatia. Along with the rich malacological collection of Fra Jure Radić, the museum also has a valuable collection of the flora of Biokovo Mountain and a smaller paleontological collection. The Malacological Museum of Makarska is a shellfish museum - protective outer cases of molluscs. It is the result of continuous and hard work of the priest and scientist Fra Jure Radić, PhD, with the support and cooperation of numerous people, scientists, museum employees and collectors and particularly, his faithful colleague Fra Franjo Carev. Their motto was: "Of the people, by the people, for the people".

Makarska observatory and Astro-park form a unique scientific and tourist component of Makarska. Apart from being the youngest observatory in the Republic of Croatia, it is unique for several more reasons: it was built on an existing monument, it is located in the town center on a small hill, 50 m from the waterfront and the town beach, and in comparison with other observatories on the Adriatic, it is closest to the sea. The Makarska observatory was implemented in the memorial center of the World War II, built in 1974 in honor of all fallen soldiers from Makarska and the Makarska Riviera.
