Normandy is well known for having a lot of golf courses. Here is a selection of the ones that Tom has tried out personally!

St Mere Eglise
Sainte-Mère-Église is famous for being one of the sites where paratroopers landed as part of D-Day. The church featured in the film 'The Longest Day' which features the true story of paratrooper John Steele who landed on the church spire and remained there (pretending to be dead) until he was freed by German soldiers and captured as a Prisoner of War. There is a permanent tribute to the event with a mannequin and his parachute caught on the spire.

The village shop and bar is a very pleasant 20 minute walk away. Perfect for basic supplies, walking the dog (or children!) and having a drink before heading back to the gites!
Just remember that this is open every day except Monday!

Saint-Vaast-La-Hougue has a fascinating fort to walk around. It's adjacent to tidal marshes and sea. A walk alongside the sea front takes you from the fort to the harbour, where there are plenty of bars and restaurants to watch the fishing boats coming and going.
