A little hidden treasure in Jardim do Mar, friendly staff and good food after exploring the village.
We enjoy the relaxed atmosphere where you can either eat inside or in their courtyard. We found the food to be of good quality, fresh and tasty.
There are usually some interesting visitors and we have met a number of lovely both local and international people there.

Calheta beach
This lovely beach is less than a 5 minute drive from the house and easy to get to by car.
There are 2 separate beaches with a beach bar on either side where you can have a drink or a meal (or both).
There is a supermarket where you can get some groceries, a play area for the children (if needed).
The beach bars are really cool and frequented both the locals and holiday makers and an ideal spot for just enjoying the sun or people watching if you've had enough of laying on the beach.
There is an awesome working Rum factory right next to the church that is open to visitors.
Definitely worth a visit to both the beautiful church and the factory

I really love the beach area, you can enjoy all day at the beach and then escape to the beach bar that plays some good music (we prefer the bar that is nearest to the children's pay area but to be honest we frequent them both).
With very good changing facilities and lots of parking its worth a trip.

Great places to go to within walking distance of De Casa Villa
This is a 5 minute-walk away from De Casa Villa. To get there I would walk out of the front door and take a right down to where the ‘bridge’ is where you will find some steps. You go up the steps and turn right down to the road and follow that till you join another road. Keep walking and the bar will be on your left.
D'ALMA - Wine Bar

This bar is so lovely, great music with fantastic views and excellent pricing for their beers and cocktails. Limited menu though for food but if you’d like some finger food and drinks at a vibey bar then it’s worth a visit
