Martinsville is a small town, but there's some hidden gems that we love! Here's our favorites:
1.7 miles. Our favorite place for a walk or a picnic! The walking trail goes around the lake, about 2 miles total. Say hello to the Swan couple Victor and Victoria! In the spring, you may also get to see them nesting or raising their Cignets (the nerdy name for baby swans) The lake is private, but we are members and as our guests you have access, but please be respectful of the posted rules and NO feeding the swans or other wildlife.

13 miles. One of the last of it's kind! Drive-in movie theatre with snack bar, restrooms, playground for the kids and digital sound linked through your car radio. Double features on Friday and Saturday nights, starting at sundown. March-November. It gets packed quickly, so get there early and bring blankets, lawn chairs, anything goes!

106 Fireman Club Rd13 miles. One of the last of it's kind! Drive-in movie theatre with snack bar, restrooms, playground for the kids and digital sound linked through your car radio. Double features on Friday and Saturday nights, starting at sundown. March-November. It gets packed quickly, so get there early and bring blankets, lawn chairs, anything goes!
24 miles. About a 40 min drive, but our favorite lake to go swimming, fishing and boating in the summer. Picnic area and sandy beach. Absolutely beautiful! Super peaceful in the evenings. (Bonus: Papas Pizza is on the way, just sayin)
Goose Point Recreation Area

1.7 miles. This new extension to the Dick and Willie trail system brings the best of the greenway close to our home. Walking, biking, picnic areas and river access for kayaking, canoeing and swimming.
