Favorite Spots
Hey! We are new to San Antonio as well and still haven't seen so much! But these have been some of our favorite places to visit as tourists and weekly staples for food in our household. Enjoy!
If you can, go right when it opens at 10am. Parking can get very crowded. It's beautiful. It will take your breath away and highly recommend going if you haven't been. Lunch was also really nice, they have sushi and bento boxes, bubbletea, and snacks. They have outdoor and indoor seating.

Japanese Tea Gardens

We are members to the Zoo! It's nice to just go and walk around for exercise as its shaded well and even if its crowded, the flow of the zoo is well designed. I recommend going before 2pm as the sun here gets very hot between 2-6 and it might make the trip a little less comfortable.

I recommend going before 2pm as the sun here gets very hot between 2-6 and it might make the trip a little less comfortable.

McNay Art Museum

La Villita Historic Arts Village
418 Villita StThis is SA's go to place for all events/holidays. Right by the Riverwalk, the mall, and downtown, there are a bunch of small shops nestled in this pretty part of town. I usually suggest taking your Lyft there to begin and then walking to other destinations.
There are many choices for food to satisfy everyone, including an awesome vegetarian restaurant. Also lots of shops. Please note that parking will be crazy on the weekends because of their farmers market, (which is also awesome to check out).

Best Thai in SA in our opinion. Staff is extremely nice and they have never messed up our meal. The restaurant has a good vibe to sit and relax after a long day of tourism!

Food scene
I personally won't recommend the food as it didn't blow me away and the wait was a little much for us in the Texas heat. However, stop by and get their Rootbeer. Best I have ever had in my life!

If you want to go all out for steak and are okay with the price tag, go here. This is our treat place, expect to drop a few hundred, but their whiskey drinks are amazing, and the steak is to die for. Sometimes we are able to split a larger steak and two large sides between us, and their desserts are also on point.

Entertainment
If you want a slightly different place to see a movie (that also has decent food with a waitstaff to bring it to you), check their website out. We were able to see an anime there too as they don't show just the mainstream stuff.

If you are a bit of a nerd like us, stop by this awesome gaming stop. They have medieval clothes for sale, and a ton of games. They do game nights, and D&D. It's just a neat place to visit if you like that kind of stuff.

Well worth the drive. Especially on a beautiful day, bring a cooler and some sandwiches and sit outside the brewery and drink a few free samples. The tour was really interesting as well, but the vibe there in general is lovely to sit in. Down the street are some BBQ places that you can stop by on the way back to us.
