This place is very popular indeed, its a great place if you want to try some more unusual fish dishes. Not recommended if you are a big eater but nice for a treat. More of a tapas style than pub size portions.

Chicken and chips, fish fries and chips, ribs, and a great salad bar. This is the place for the big eaters! Medieval style decor, built in the old cinema building. It can get quite noisy in here once the drinks and mead wine start flowing! Table allocation is on a first come first served basis but there is a nice bar area to have a drink as you wait for your table.

Lots of drinking going on here! No food is served. Plenty of local characters to be seen in this place, its right next to the harbour so tends to be the first port of call for the fishermen. Live music most weekends.

St Ives is worth a visit, its a more touristy town but it is an absolutely beautiful part of the area. I recommend taking the train to St Ives (only if you have plenty of time!) as it is the most scenic train journey you will likely have. St Erth station to Carbis Bay is the real scenic part. Either way its a lovely little harbour town with a few beaches, pubs, galleries, shops and the Tate gallery.

Beautiful beach, can get quite busy in the summer. I also recommend taking the open top 'Atlantic coaster' bus A1 & A3 to Porthcurno Beach/Minack theatre, the bus stop is at the bottom of our hill nr the bridge. It's about £7 return from what i remember, the open toppers only run during the summer but what a nice way to get to the beach and take in the countryside on the way, great day out.

The original Penlee Lifeboat House is on the road from Newlyn to Mousehole, it is the station from which the ill fated Solomon Browne launched on 19 December 1981.
The lifeboat Solomon Browne, went to the aid of the vessel Union Star after its engines failed in heavy seas. After the lifeboat had rescued four people, both vessels were lost with all hands; in all, sixteen people died including eight volunteer lifeboatmen. The Station can only be viewed from the roadside or its memorial garden but it is worth stopping as a point of interest if you are passing, it is left as it was on the night 37 years ago, boots and various equipment still left in situ.
