Now this is a SPECIAL PLACE not many even know about yet!
Only a few Miles from my rental owned and operated by a local friend of mine with a heart of gold, unstoppable music and artistic talents passed down from his former father who was the creator of Felix The Cat and Casper the friendly Ghost. The owner (Don) has put so much creative thought into transforming this magical place and the results are astounding!
Once a horse race track, training and boarding facility to now a horse rescue along with many new buildings were parties, weddings and company meetings are held.
They offer large seasonal events as well as weekly events, shows, specialty dinner offers, and even an upcoming Tea Party for the ladies and a 5 Course Wild Game, Wine dinner and Pairing.
One can enjoy real Teepees and even life size dinosaurs on the property along with other seasonal props set up.

Another great place only a few scenic, back road, miles from the rental. Offering entertainment on weekends and LOADS of crafted Beer. My favorite being the Blueberry Ale with fresh Blueberries added. YUM! They also have a light food menu, limited mix drinks, wine and soda.
With warmer outdoor weather there are nice areas to sit, relax and even play some corn hole if you like.
Colder weather outdoors include setting as well and heat touches/ firerings for those smoking.
Skylands Craft Beer & Wine Garden
447 NJ-284Another great place only a few scenic, back road, miles from the rental. Offering entertainment on weekends and LOADS of crafted Beer. My favorite being the Blueberry Ale with fresh Blueberries added. YUM! They also have a light food menu, limited mix drinks, wine and soda.
With warmer outdoor weather there are nice areas to sit, relax and even play some corn hole if you like.
Colder weather outdoors include setting as well and heat touches/ firerings for those smoking.

The Walkill Wild Life Refuge and river are literally at the end of the Road from the rental house and is a wonderful place to take in beautiful views, see wild life, hike, kayak, or just relax on the rivers side bench or kayak launching pad.

Pennings is such a great little local, family owned market right by the rental also. There you can get your basic essentials along with delicious homemade pies, old-fashioned cinnamon donuts, sandwiches, seasonal fruits and vegetables grown on the farm. Fall time you can pick your own apples and pumpkins right out of the fields and also enjoy live entertainment when offered along with a cute petting zoo right next door.
