Lovely walk up to the Stickle Tarn the path is clear but can be a little challenging in places as it is rocky and steep but with the correct hiking shoes it is doable for most outdoor people.

Lovely easy walk around this beautiful tarn with nearby parking.
Another lovely not so challenging walk around a beautiful little tarn. Can also be linked to the Loughrigg climb and caves.

Another lovely not so challenging walk around a beautiful little tarn. Can also be linked to the Loughrigg climb and caves.
There is a nice byway that's easy to walk along directly opposite the house (down the drive, cross the road, go through the car park and turn left down the byway)
You can follow this to Chapel Stile and the Wainwright Inn for a drink. You can get back on it through Bays Brown Farm and carry onto Elterwater - nice cafe and Britannia Inn pub here. You can keep going down the footpath along the river to Skelwith Falls where Chesters is for a nice cake and coffee

Go out of the house and turn left and turn left again at the white house and go through the gate across the field and through the next gate. Follow the stony track following the fenceline with the fence to your left. (If you turn right and go up the hill along the gill it takes you to Stickle Tarn)
The uneven stony route does improve and if you keep going in this direction you will be heading to the mountains the first part of the route is flat. If you take the right fork at the end of the valley you will go up Stake's pass along the Cumbria Way this will eventually head to Keswick via Borrowdale. If you go left you will reach Angle Tarn.

On a nice day nothing beats taking out a kayak on Lake Windermere. You can hire a sit on top for 2 to paddle around the lake. Alternatively there is a branch hire place in Ambleside (Total adventure) where you can hire a canoe. there are also options for hiring rowing boats at Waterhead.
