A more upscale restaurant with a great selection. Prepare to pay about $30 per entree, but well worth indulging into. My favorite here is the Lamb Bourguignon and duck breast.

World famous Slows BBQ is on Michigan Avenue (about 1 mile away), but this "carry-out" is only a couple blocks away. Voted "Best Macaroni" in the USA. Must try to visitors! Carolina Style Pulled Pork!

This bakery is to die for! Avalon has made a great reputation for itself because their baked goods are appealing to the taste buds. Right down the street from the apartment!

The Whitney is a gorgeous, historically preserved mansion that has been converted into a restaurant and bar on the top floor. A bit pricey, but a really classy place for couples to spend their dinner.

Honest John's is the only bar I know that sells 40-ounce bottles. Pretty sweet place, with a CHEAP breakfast menu. They start selling booze at 7am!
