Food Scene

As a vegan, its tough to find a good meal in most ski towns but I can always depend on The Incline’s Ultimate Garden Burger. Dont miss their fries-they are amazing! Its the best place for apres ski happy hour too.

OMG...who doesn’t love made-to-order mini donuts? Its my secret guilty pleasure that I treat myself to after a really cold day on the slopes. They are actually really good after a warm day too. And, since they open at 7:30 am sometimes they are even the right thing to do before a day of skiing.

Drinks & Nightlife

Nothing trendy or stuffy about this bar, thats whats special about it. Its known to be a locals hangout so if you need some insider info about the mountain, this might be the place to do some recon. And-whats better than a 1 minute walk back to the Copper Cabin after a few drinks?

Sightseeing

Tucker Mountain Snowcat is something that every expert skier/snowboarder should experience. The cats only run on Friday-Sunday 10-1:30, weather permitting, but you can expect to find fresh powder a few days after a good snowfall. If you have the juice, after your dropped off, hike all the way up to ski the Fremont Glade-few people are willing to do the 1.23 mile hike after the cat ride but if you do, its the best skiing you will find anywhere. We did it in 1 hour, its 12k feet so prepare to get winded. And, if you’re a hotshot athlete, then the view will take your breath away. Oh, ya, and its free. BUT remember to tip your cat driver generously, they work hard getting us all up there

Parks & Nature

There are 34 back country huts in the Rockies, connected by 350 miles of suggested routes. All the cabins are different from super basic to a bit less basic, all the hikes in are different as well. Really long and hard to not so long, still a challenge. Check out huts.org for more info and prepare to book your stay a year in advance. For newbies, I would suggest the Walters cabin. Its a moderate ski in and the cabin feels like real luxury, with a shower and indoor toilets.

Shopping

I love to walk past Kelly’s on the way to the Eagle lift because they always have two racks of summer clothes that they deep discount through the winter. Not only great deals, but great brands. And their shoes...oh, their shoes.....those with shoe buying issues may want to take a different route to the lift.

Essentials

Its convenient, pretty well stocked and within a 2 minute walk from the Copper Cabin if you really need a loaf of bread and dont want to take the bus or car to Frisco, go for it. But, you will pay dearly for that loaf. I would suggest hitting up Whole Foods or Natural Grocer in Frisco instead.
