Northwest Trek is such a great place for families!! The wildlife there is just fantastic. The tram ride is not to be missed. The first ride of the day seems to be the best for viewing the animals- but anytime of day is great. The Zip Line is AWESOME!!!

If you get lucky enough and they are open...at the very least grab a milkshake! SO GOOD!!! You will know they are open if the green cover to the stand is lifted up. Also...the multitude of motorcycles and cars parked out front is always a clue. Definitely worth a quick stop! Eat out front at one of the tables, or take it to go.

Do the Puyallup! If you are visiting this area in September, you probably want to take a drive down to the Puyallup Fair. Animals, rides, crafts, games, concerts, TONS of food, and many many more activities are offered. Be prepared for traffic- it gets pretty hectic during fair time, but unless you are a local that has been there 50 times already- you probably don't want to miss this.

Animals, rides, crafts, games, concerts, TONS of food, and many many more activities are offered. Be prepared for traffic- it gets pretty hectic during fair time, but unless you are a local that has been there 50 times already- you probably don't want to miss this.

Eatonville is a small, friendly town that you drive right through on your way to Mt. Rainier. It may be worth a stop. It has some small stores that can be kind of unique to take a peak in. Don't plan on needing too much time there, you could get through it all pretty quickly. The bakery (yellow building on the right hand side as you enter town) is worth a stop for some goodies. If you don't grab coffee there, the coffee stand on your left a little further down has some nummy options. There is a small grocery store if u have forgotten anything on your way up to the mountain- not a large selection- but if your desperate it's worth stopping. FYI- watch your SPEED through this town!
