One of my favorite hangouts both to sit down and read or do some work, and to catch up with friends. The staff are great fun and play a great variety of music. They have all the usual cafe offerings as well as great sandwiches and salads. Bonus: pool tables!

Walden is a great get-away that's very close to town. There's a good cluster of trails and refreshing swimming in the summer months. When you don't have time for a long drive for a more substantial hike, this is a great compromise since it's only about 30 min away. You can also enjoy the original site and replica of Henry David Thoreau's cabin.
