The famed Franklin's Barbeque is right down the street, but if you're not up to the multiple hour wait in line you've got to try Micklethwait. Their sides are amazing like their Lemon Poppyseed Coleslaw – who thought cabbage could taste like a muffin?! They can get a bit of a line on the weekends, so it doesn't hurt to get there a few minutes before they open at 11 am to skip the wait.

Quickie Pickie is the neighborhood go to. They serve Counter Culture coffee and it's my favorite place to get a breakfast taco. When it's nice out – which is most of the time in Austin – their patio is a great place to relax and people watch.

Ramen Tatsu-Ya is an Austin staple, and this location is their newest and largest restaurant. On top of having incredible ramen, their sides, desserts, and cocktails are fantastic. My favorite drink is the Bae-zilla which has sake and limeade with basil seeds! Even though this is their largest location it still gets very busy during the evening, so try coming during the day or for an early dinner to skip the wait.
