In the Great Depression Tin City grew to 14 huts. A number of movies have been made at this location, including parts of Mad Max. The pub still stands!

A little protected swimming hole at the northern end opposite the reserve and rock pools to explore. Great spot to watch whales go by and a good spot for spear fishing/snorkeling.

There is a small trail through the grass from the beach that leads up to the headland and links back with the bike path. Aboriginal shell middens can also be seen scattered through this area.
