Sightseeing
Originally built to be a terminus railroad hotel in a French Chateau style in the 1880's. The company went bankrupt in the panic of 1893 and sat dormant and unfinished until Tacoma Public Schools bought it and turned it into Tacoma's first High School in 1906 along with a huge stadium that could seat 1,000's and was used as a spot for major West Coast engagements and gathering for decades. Presidents such as Theodore Roosevelt spoke there! It went through a major remodel about 15 years ago wherin TPS did its best to retain and restore as many original elements as possible.

Beautiful, well lit park with walking/joggin paths, pond, basketball court, kids water park, lots of diverse trees, and an antique arboretum with lush foilage of all types.
