The Deli sports some lovely local produce and has a very chatty atmosphere. Their artisan, freshly baked breads are great for a special sandwich - either made for you in the shop, using their local cheese and meats or to take away and make at home.

Dores Inn is right next to Loch Ness - if you aren't going to take the cruise (see below), this is our favourite way of going Nessie spotting! The food is also really great.

A five minute walk from the house, this is a gorgeous little coffee shop. Their aim is to be one of the foremost coffee destinations in the Highlands, so they pay attention to everything. They use Dear Green coffee, only serve home cooking and baking, and often have live traditional music supplied by one of the owner's personal musician friends.

A five minute walk from the house, this is a gorgeous little coffee shop. Their aim is to be one of the foremost coffee destinations in the Highlands, so they pay attention to everything. Drinks & Nightlife
With live music every night starting at 9:00 PM, Hootenanny is fairly expensive, but has a brilliant atmosphere! Also a beautiful part of town as it is very close to Loch Ness.

Jacobite Cruises are the best way to experience Loch Ness. The longer cruise even ends with a tour of Urquhart Castle. And all for a relatively reasonable price!

Parks & Nature
Rogie Falls is an hour long walk, or a ten minute drive, from our house - we usually walk as it is beautiful the whole way! The falls themselves are well worth seeing - especially in summer as you can often see salmon jumping up the fish ladder or even the falls themselves. This is the first place we suggest to guests who want to experience Scotland!

Loch Achilty is a five minute drive from our house and is one of our personal haunts. We usually take our canoe and have a paddle about (you could join us, if we are going!), but it is just as lovely just for a quiet walk. You don't get more peaceful than this!
