Armature Works

This is Tampa's version of the hipster mixed-market. It has a lot of great food / drinks and is also fun to hang out and people watch here. Some people use it to work remotely from, but for us, it's too loud...so I wouldn't suggest it.

Boca Kitchen

If you don't want to go to Hyde Park Village, Boca is a fantastic farm-to-table restaurant a few blocks in the opposite direction. It is more kid tolerable than kid friendly, but is a great spot.
