In the little hamlet of Hulme End is the Manifold Valley visitor centre, along with the T Junction (cafe) and cycle hire.
The Manifold Trail is perfect for walkers, cyclists and horse riders and is just over a mile away from our farmstead.
There are car parking areas at both ends of the track and at intermediate locations. For all but 2 miles the track is car free. Cycles can be hired from Brown End Farm and The Manifold Valley Cycle Centre, both at Waterhouses.
There are several caves in the Manifold Valley and the best known is Thor's Cave which is 76 metres up from the cycle/walking track. The majority of our guests enjoy refreshments at Wetton Mill Tearooms, then head for the Cave, it is a steep walk but the magnificent view makes it worth while. The Manifold Track follows the old route of the disused Leek and Manifold Light Railway from Hulme End to Waterhouses.
