A real sea cast that was built by the Crusaders. It sits the doorstep of Sidon,one of Phoenicia's major cities.
Located in the old city of Sidon, the 13th century stone building was once a soap factory producing soap, meeting the needs of the region’s hammams, before its transformation into a thematic museum.
Today, the Soap Museum illustrates the history of soap making and how it has developed over time. Visitors can also learn about the production of traditional olive oil soaps.

Soap Museum
Located in the old city of Sidon, the 13th century stone building was once a soap factory producing soap, meeting the needs of the region’s hammams, before its transformation into a thematic museum.
Today, the Soap Museum illustrates the history of soap making and how it has developed over time. Visitors can also learn about the production of traditional olive oil soaps.
Merchants, both French and non-French, used to gather in this large courtyard and trade in silk, cotton, perfumes and spices in the midst of elegant limestone arches over which, nowadays, lively bougainvilleas climb and blossom. On the upper floors, the merchants found rest at night, accompanied by the gurgling of the fountain in the centre of the courtyard.

Hammam Al Jadeed is the largest and most significant bathhouses located in the ancient city of Saida, in the neighborhood known as "Hammam Al Jadeed District". Built in 1720, it was closed down in the late 1940s then re-opened in May 2019 as a heritage and cultural venue.has remarkable ornaments and consists of a large hallway and several small rooms with Ottoman structural design.
