Béal an Mhuirthead / Belmullet. Belmullet tidal pool is located on Shore Road, in the waters of Blacksod Bay, a short walk from the town centre. It has a toddler's section and a deeper section for experienced swimmers. In the months of July and August, there is a lifeguard patrol here.

You simply cannot visit the Erris areaand not visit the magestic Iniskea Islands. The Inishkea Islands are situated off the coast of the Mullet peninsula in Ireland. The islands are believed to be named after a saint that lived on the island called Saint Kea. There are two main islands - Inishkea North and Inishkea South.

Carrowteige is located in North Mayo, 14km from the town of Belmullet. The Carrowteige Loop Walks consist of sustained coastal walk along cliffs, crags, caves, chasms and islands on the remote North Mayo coast. The blue arrows sign out the Children of Lir loop, the longest, while the red ones signal the Black Ditch Walk. Detailed information on each of the walks is listed hereunder.

The Blacksod lighthouse is an old building nestled in the southern end of the Mullet Peninsula near Erris, beside Blacksod Pier. It was built in 1864 and made of local granite blocks.
Building a lighthouse at Blacksod Bay was already discussed in 1841, but it was only in the early 1860s that proposals were sent for approval to the Ballast Board, the Board of Trade and Trinity House in London.
