An elongation of the Mørkgonga hike, if you want a longer hike, get higher and see longer. On sunny days you can se both Tryvann (Oslo), the Oslo fjord and Gaustatoppen; the highest mountain in the eastern part of the south.
If not going all the way - just the trip to Migartjern (a small lake just above Mørkgonga) is worth the visit itself.

Gyrihaugen
An elongation of the Mørkgonga hike, if you want a longer hike, get higher and see longer. On sunny days you can se both Tryvann (Oslo), the Oslo fjord and Gaustatoppen; the highest mountain in the eastern part of the south.
If not going all the way - just the trip to Migartjern (a small lake just above Mørkgonga) is worth the visit itself.

Beautiful views after a very short walk! You can drive to Kleivstua (hotel and cafe/restaurant) which gives you a 20 min walk out to the viewing platform. If you want a longer hike you can skip the drive up to Kleivstua (and the road fee) and walk up to Kleivstua through Krokkleiva from Sundvollen.
Walking from Kleivstua (drive up) and walk to "Kings view" after buying an ice cream might be the kids option if the Mørkgonga hike seems too long.

Beautiful views after a very short walk! You can drive to Kleivstua (hotel and cafe/restaurant) which gives you a 20 min walk out to the viewing platform. If you want a longer hike you can skip the drive up to Kleivstua (and the road fee) and walk up to Kleivstua through Krokkleiva from Sundvollen.
Walking from Kleivstua (drive up) and walk to "Kings view" after buying an ice cream might be the kids option if the Mørkgonga hike seems too long.
