Blåvand is a beautiful small city with a long shopping street, great restaurants, and two different beaches to enjoy your vacation at. The south side beach called Hvidbjerg Strand is inviting for long walks and sea-shell collecting. The west side beach can be reached easily from the parking lot at the lighthouse, which can also be visited for a great view over Blåvand.

Careful: Military area around!
It is important to know before traveling to the Danish southern west coast, that parts of the area are used by the Danish military for practice purposes. As a result, it is usual to see tanks, military cars, and soldiers, also within the tourist towns. Parts of the areas can be blocked and access is limited due to dangerous munition and shooting practices. But there is no need to worry - the soldiers are very friendly and the military offers an open-house day to learn more about their work.
