If you're looking for some nature, there's a cute reservoir at Highland Park. It connects with other parks like Forest Park, were you can go for long walks if you're looking to be in touch with nature.

If you're looking to get away and go to the beach, this is my favorite one to do so. It's a bit of a subway/bus ride but it's completely worth it. Unlike the Rockaways, this beach doesn't have a boardwalk and once you get there you feel like you are far away from NYC.
