Best beaches

A totally unspoilt beach, many say the best on the island :) A short walk from the house. Magical, backed by dunes, which are also stunning to explore. Dogs allowed. Never gets too busy as so large. Walk to the far end for guaranteed peace and quiet.

Just a few miles from Aberffraw Main beach, another huge arc of sand. Dog friendly if you walk south, in the summer. Backed by dunes and Newborough Forest, so much to explore. Shallow waters so great with kids. Top tip: exploring here can be combined with a walk in the forest and / or out to Llanddwyn Island. All accessible from the Beach car park for which we shall leave you our Annual Pass. Or just sun yourself and swim/paddle board on a warm day!

Better known as beautiful 'Cable Bay'. 2 miles from Jai-mor. Perfectly formed bay, great for all your watersports and kids can safely playing in the water. Gets surf too when there is swell if you have your surfboard. Top tip: take a walk up to the burial chamber on the headland as part of your visit here. N.B. there is now a £4 car park charge here. But there is space 200m further down the road on the left hand side for a few cars, free. From there you can walk back along a pavement to Cable bay.

Newborough Forest has it all! Great walking, at all levels. Brilliant mountain biking. Little trails for little legs. Running and trim trails for the energetic. And if you fancy getting out of the trees, head out onto Newborough Beach with a picnic. Top tip: Can you find the best kids swing ever?? So much fun! Head towards Llanddwyn Island and look for the rocky outcrop. Walking and biking distance from the beach carpark. Beach car park is £5 but we'll leave our annual pass for you, so you can get in for free!! Alternatively you can park on the road for free on route to Newborough village, but bear in mind it is a long walk (too long for little legs) to reach the beach from here. Instead you would park here for a little trot around the woods. Or park opposite in Red Squirrel Woodland (also free) and see if you can spot the famous red squirrels which reside here.

Arguably the most beautiful spot on Anglesey, or in the world on a sunny day! About a half hour walk along the beach to the start of the island at the north end of Newborough Beach. Only reached when the tide is low. So check tide times first. Unfortunately dogs are not allowed during the summer months. Top tip: Choose a sunny day and take a picnic to enjoy on one of several hidden sandy coves on the island. Unbeatable.

Walk to the legendary and magical Cwyfan Church from the house. 2 routes: a mile along the back lane from the house takes you directly here, or a longer (approx 1hr) walk hugging the coast. Or make a loop using both routes! My favourite run :) Top tip: if you want to walk out to the church which is on a walled island, check the tide first. You must walk a causeway, and therefore is only accessible when the tide is low.
