Murphys and Arnold are remarkable and very different than the rest of gold country. Gold arrived to the earth via stardust and comets; you do feel the energy of the stars in the air, the rolling hills, and up the mountain into the alpine trees, and the pristine waters. Visit Old Timers Museum in Murphys; preceding the Murphy brothers, Murphys was a peaceful trading post for hundreds of years for the many Miwok Tribes of California. You will see amazing pine needle basketry and gold mining artifacts, plus much more.
