"Camp Inches" has been a family owned vacation home since the 1950's. We have a private brook, waterfall and swimming hole. Camp Inches is a quiet, relaxing spot tucked away in the charming rural town of Danbury, New Hampshire where you'll find tall pine trees,mountain ridges,lakes and local farms. Danbury is also home to Ragged Mountain Resort. We are very close to Cardigan Mountain, Newfound Lake, the home of Wellington State Park.
Camp Inches is located off a country road alongside the Wild Meadow Brook. Close by you'll find mountain views that include Ragged Mountain and Mt. Cardigan with it's 3,155 foot peak and a spectacular 360 degree view. Mount Kearsarge with 2 state parks and Winslow, Rollins and Tenney Mountains (30 min), Mount Sunapee (30min) Gunstock, Loon and Waterville Valley resorts an hours ride.
Motorcyclists will love to ride along gorgeous scenic routes!! Camp Inches is only a 30 minute drive to Lake Winnipesauke then on to Laconia and Weirs Beach. Laconia Bike Week rents out well in advance of the event, so be sure to book early!
Wine lovers will enjoy a trip to visit Danbury's own Haunting Whisper Winery! Wine tasting is encouraged!
The 48-mile hard packed Northern Rail Trail, which is the longest recreational-use trail in New Hampshire is accessible from the center of town in Danbury. Bring your bicycles, running or walking shoes and in the winter months it's open to snowmobilers.
Cardigan Mountain and Newfound Lakes Wellington State Park are both a short drive and seven minutes from Camp Inches is one of the best country stores in NH, the Danbury Country Store. Voted #1 in the state of NH by WMUR voter results in 2017 and 2018. A wide variety of groceries, homemade foods and desserts. Gifts and toys too!!You'll be sure to love it as much as we do!
A scenic drive on Route 104 to Bristol (15 min) is where you'll find Walkers Farm and a Hannaford Supermarket. Once in Bristol you'll find many restaurants, bars, a Rite-Aid, Dunkin Donuts and much more.
Be sure to visit the popular Profile Falls on the Smith River and don't forget your bathing suits and be sure to stop by the Polar Caves in Rumney, NH
Historic New London (15 miles) is a unique college town and home of Colby- Sawyer College. New London is surrounded by magnificent mountains and lakes. (Pleasant Lake and Lake Sunapee) New London has unique shops,many restaurants and it's also home to the New London Barn Playhouse. You'll also find a Hannaford grocery store for all your provisions and yes, another Dunkins!!
If you like bargains, the Tilton Outlet stores is a 45-minute drive where you'll find many stores and restaurants.
While you take in the sights and sounds of nature, you'll hear the Wild Meadow babbling brook,which runs the whole length of the property.You'll have your very own water hole and waterfall surrounded by a fully screened, lighted porch which overlooks the waterfall and swimming hole. This magical space allows you to enjoy the great outdoors from dusk to dawn! Want to "rough" it? A comfortable double futon is on the porch that can sleep a lucky 2, guaranteeing the most relaxing night's sleep you'll ever have!
A large,open grassy field where you can play games or just relax by the stream and take pleasure sitting under the stars around a roaring camp fire. All while listening to the babbling brook.
I have an additional 9 acres of meadow land that's located across the road and available for your exploration and enjoyment! Cut trails will lead you to enjoy more of the Wild Meadows Brook and a sandy beach. Turkey, bear, moose and an abundance of other wild life thrive there, so stay sharp and bring binoculars for a closer view!
Camp Inches rustic interior provides that authentic country ambiance and we have five sliding glass doors through out the home for your viewing pleasure that brings the outdoors right inside.
Camp Inches kitchen has all new appliances and for the chef, kitchen utensils galore with spices and condiments at your fingertips! An open concept keeps everyone involved and interacting during meals. Dining area seats 8 and the breakfast bar 4. There's a Weber grill for your outdoor cooking right outside on the deck with a table and chairs and another larger table with chairs, all right beside the brook.
Our great room doubles as the third bedroom. This is my favorite room in the house and connects directly to the screened porch. I decided to set it up this way so everyone could enjoy this room. It has 1 couch, one large futon for sleeping. A wooded cathedral ceiling with two skylights and a ceiling fan. A flat screen TV, every channel Direct TV has to offer. An 8 foot sliding glass door that leads you to the screened porch with lots of comfortable seating. Calming views of the outdoors and the swimming hole with ther sounds of of our babbling brook.
A cozy sunken living room is right off the kitchen.This room boasts another wooded cathedral ceiling with ceiling fan, an 8 foot sliding glass door just steps to the brook with a comfortable futon that can sleep two. A flat screened TV, that includes all the available channels Direct TV has to offer.
Bedrooms: The first bedroom is off the kitchen and has a queen bed facing a 6ft glass slider with your own private deck and entrance. It also has a nice view of the forest and brook. The second bedroom is the master bedroom, which is down the hall past the bathroom. This room is spacious with a queen bed and a trundle bed that sleeps two.This room has a private entrance too.
We have a mud room where you'll find the washer and dryer, so pack light!
We're located right off a country road nestled close to a private brook.
Year round residents live and work nearby, as well as a few vacation homes. You might see deer,moose, bear and turkeys in your travels along the roads. Also, many farms and gorgeous views in every direction.
