We welcome you to join us in our home while you try out that new job, adjust to college life, visit your student or family, participate in a triathalon, attend graduation, or embark on other life journeys. We will do our best to make your stay a pleasant one. We live in the home, so some spaces are shared. Downstairs, is restored 1920's era with high ceilings, oak woodwork, and unusual antiques. Bedroom 2 was a library so it has a tall and exceptionally wide doorway covered with thick curtains.
This owner has hosted more than a dozen extended stay international high school students, international college students and international guest teachers, so she can assist students and extended stay guests with adjusting to adulthood and / or to transitions of living in a new place. This owner is willing to assist with occassional trips to stores and other local attractions and events.
The Ciry Bus route is just 1 block away and runs every hour daily to ISU, Rose Hulman, and Ivy Tech college campuses. Students ride free!
This owner prefers extended stay students and couples who are in town to visit their university student sons and daughters.
Extended stay prices are greatly reduced and include utilities, security system, home maintenance, and other amenities
This owner is an RN with specialized knowledge of molecular biology and nutritional health care. Nutritional coaching assistance and grocery shopping utilizing natural healthy foods is free and available for students and guests who chose to share a monthly set standard fee to cover their portion of the grocery bill, especially helpful for those with special health concerns and diet restrictions and for guests with limited time who prefer help with cooking their evening meals and lunches. All arrangements and assistance needs are flexible to meet the individualized needs of guests.
Shared living areas, living room, dining room, bathrooms, and kitchen. Guests will have use of bedroom drawers or dressers and designated refrigerator and cabinet spaces within shared spaces if needed.
Other things to note:
House rules for cleanliness and to maintain beautiful floors and tables requires that we don't wear shoes indoors and we also ask that you keep food and drinks in dining and kitchen areas and cups and other items on coasters and mats... and no dancing or jumping on tables and furniture... but you are welcome to use a pair of our clean slippers and dance around the house ! No smoking in the home. If you must smoke, you may use an ash tray and smoke outdoors. We do expect that you will clean up after yourself since we are empty nesters and have already raised our children ! We promise in exchange that we will splurge the missing cleaning fee on bonus treats for you !
Our home is conveniently located with 2 blocks of Federal Post office, Starbucks, Kroger Grocery, gas stations, CVS pharmacy, Kroger Pharmacy, Dry Cleaner, Laundromat, Liquor Store, ATM's, Telephone service providers, Bail Salons, Hair Stylists, Barbers, Spaghetti Shop, First Wok Chinese take out, and many Fast Food establishments.
We love to spend part of our summer hiking and camping at Turkey run and other local state and city parks and you are welcome to join us on any of our evening or weekend trips if you choose to do so.
