“Another of Gaudí's projects declared as a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO. A part of it can be visited for free and there are great panoramic views of Barcelona in this section, but the most iconic sights are grouped in the restricted area and it is highly recommended to buy tickets in advance. It is between 25-35 min away from the apartment if you go there by bus.”

“At one point, this park used to be the only green space in Barcelona, this isn’t the case anymore but an afternoon spent wandering the grounds of this park is guaranteed to be time well spent!”

Theme Park
“Parc d’atraccions del Tibidabo. Sits at the feet of the church, welcoming visitors with over 30 modern and old-fashioned rides and attractions, many of the rides take you to greater heights where you can get a bird's eye view of the funfair, the city and Tibidabo. The funfair is a place for all ages: both adults and children will enjoy an afternoon flying and spinning on its many different attractions. Other points of interest that you can visit on Tibidabo include Barcelona's Planetarium and Science Museum, the Fabra Observatory, and the Collserola Tower, a 288 meter-high telecommunications tower designed by Norman Foster and built for the 1992 Olympic Games.”

Historic Site
“Barcelona's best panoramic view is not at Park Güell, it's at the Carmel Bunkers in the Turó de la Rovira area. They are not far from the apartment on foot, but it's better to use a bus if you don't feel like walking uphill.”

“The Collserola Park is the largest green space in the metropolitan area of Barcelona, a territory that is under significant demographic pressure. It is limited by the valleys of the rivers Llobregat and Besòs, to the south and the north respectively, with the plain of Barcelona to the east and Vallès to the west. The Collserola mountain range covers over 8,000 hectares (seventeen kilometres long and six kilometres wide) and its highest peak is the famous Tibidabo (512 metres)”

“The entire Motnjuïc area is worth visiting, since it has an incredible number of monuments and attractions. There is the Montjuïc Magic Fountains and it's impressive choreography, which plays a few times per week depending on the season. Then there is the Olympic Stadium, the Montjuïc Castle, the Joan Miró Foundation, the Poble Espanyol and the Catalan Museum of National Visual Art. Keep in mind that the Montjüic is one of the two mountains in Barcelona city, the other one being the Tibidabo, so be sure to choose the most convenient method of transportation for you if you don't want to walk uphill.”

“The park has two different areas: a large square at street level, where a pond with the sculpture Mujer y Pájaro by Joan Miró stands out; and the park itself, located on a lower level, with shaded paths of pergolas with climbing plants, and a grove of trees populated mainly with pines, poplars, palms and oaks, planted symmetrically.3 Next to Vilamarí street there is a pond in whose center is the Joan Miró Library, which has a curious door formed by two steel doors in the shape of children walking, which bears the name of School and was designed by the architects of the park.4 The park also has sports courts, an area for dogs, a playground, pétanque courts, ping-pong tables and a bar.”

Theme Park
“The Tibidabo, also known as the Magic Mountain, is the tallest mountain in the Serra de Collserola. It is 512 m tall and offers breath-taking views over Barcelona and the Sea. The Amusement Park in Tibidabo was opened to the public in 1899. It is the oldest theme park in Spain and one of the first to be built in Europe. Some of the first rides constructed in the park are still open today, like “El Avio” (the Plane)”
