“Even though it is a mall, it is more than a mall as there are arcades and a movie theater located inside the mall. During rainy days or when you just want to escape from the heat for a while, this is a good place to grab food and do some shopping. There is also an underground section for shops selling locally-made items and souvenirs. ”

“Hard Rock Cafe Melaka was designed to match the old charm of Melaka with the state of the art building and architecture. It is a comfortable dining area overlooking the infamous Dutch Square. Looking through the bar and out onto the river, what a view of the historical fort and church. The live band makes the atmosphere really nice. Service is attentive and food is served fast, true to their Hard Rock spirit.”

“A’Famosa is more than just quick photo opportunity for tourists. Built in 1511, the settlement used to sprawl across a whole hillside but now only a lone gate (Porta de Santiago) remains. Originally constructed by Alfonso de Albuquerque (who led the Portuguese invasion on the Malacca Sultanate), the remains of the fort is now a crumbling whitewashed gatehouse that can be found down the hill from St. Paul’s Church. When work was undertaken on the Menara Taming Sari revolving tower in 2006, another part of the A’Famosa was discovered. As a result, the revolving tower was relocated further inland and A’Famosa’s newly-discovered fortress walls were reconstructed.”
