This Collingwood Silos corporate apartment is so well located; part of the new and amazing 'Islington Silos' building in a modern city precinct near the middle of Collingwood, and only a stones throw to Melbourne CBD and the Yarra River. This conversion made a defining contribution to the transformation of the once industrial hub into arguably the most sought after and trendiest suburbs in Melbourne. Originally a malt store built in 1878, this site was a former malt silo, serviced the surrounding breweries. It represented an early phase of industrial development in the area. The expansion of the malt store to include the adjoining silos mirrored the burgeoning brewing industry in Victoria at the time. Today the malt store and silos complex are prominent elements of the Islington St development.

With a conveniently located gym next to the elevator, two supermarkets, restaurants, cafes, trains and trams, and Smith St, Victoria St Richmond and the CBD all on your doorstep, you will love this apartment and this location. All tea, coffee, toiletries, washing and cleaning products and other welcome supplies can be found in the kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms. You will need to purchase more of these consumables if you need them for the rest of your stay.

Arrival
There is no reception on site, so someone has to travel across town to the property to meet you with the keys. Very early and late arrivals require the following fees to have someone there at these times:
6:00am - 9:30am and 5:30pm - 9:00pm will be charged at $25.00 net;
9:00pm - 6:00am will be charged at $55.00
Very early check-in can only be secured well in advance by either booking the night before, or by paying an extra half-day rate; depending on the time of arrival.
Guests will be asked to acknowledge acceptance of StayCentral Terms & Conditions and House rules, and will be asked to provide photo ID on arrival.

Rates vary enormously based on length of stay, special event periods, number of guests and specials that we run from time to time. For example, a short stay around Christmas can have a higher daily rate than a longer stay in winter. This website is unable to show this in full. Please ask us for a quote. We always reply quickly.

Lower rates may be available for longer bookings, and for stays that are booked well in advance. Interim cleaning is provided for stays longer than 14 nights. Extra cleaning can be organised for an additional fee.

I have owned two other service businesses since 1998. I started StayCentral with one apartment in 2005, and now manage multiple properties in many different locations in inner Melbourne. Like many of my guests, I love to travel; both overseas to places like the Mulu Caves in Borneo, ancient cities (in many old countries), Antarctica & Alaska, Torres del Paine, and colourful markets in amazing places like Pha Long in Vietnam, Jaisalmer in India, & La Paz in Bolivia. I also love short domestic trips for weekends away just to relax. It means I get to be on the other side of the counter, and experience how other people look after their guests: and I take their good ideas back with me. (My manager, Max, has also travelled from afar to be here by the way, and he can also speak with our guests in Russian and Ukranian). I even worked as a part-time tourist guide in Melbourne for a couple of years, and really enjoyed the interactions with the tourists off the huge cruise liners that appear in Melbourne each spring and summer. I have tried to extend this experience into my accommodation business here at home, where I really love assisting people with their stays. I do love living in Melbourne. It enjoys a unique place in Australia. It is often described as the cultural, business, shopping and sporting capital of the country. The restaurants and cafes in Melbourne are amongst the best in the world. I love living in an urban village amongst these, and all the other everyday shops; and jumping on a tram and avoiding the hassles of traffic. It is a city of great opportunity, experiences, events and lifestyle that can be enjoyed by locals and visitors alike; and I really enjoy facilitating our guests' stays here. We send you instructions on how to collect your keys on site from our greeters, once your booking is confirmed. Our office is remote from the apartment, so we communicate by phone or email. We always check with you within 24 hours of arrival to make sure that everything is okay, but we are available by phone and email for extended office hours every day.
