This clean and spacious bedroom homestay in a sweet older West Asheville cottage, is a convenient 2 minute drive to downtown Asheville or Haywood Road, W Asheville; close to breweries, music venues & amazing restaurants. Shared screened back deck.
A great homestay in a cozy and well kept older home (110 years old!), the bedroom is furnished with a bed, desk, nightstand and glider chair. Small closet available for guest use. The kitchen, living room and bath are shared, with linens and towels provided and high speed wireless internet. Space is available in the refrigerator as well. You must be a pet lover, there are cats and a friendly dog in the home.
The best thing about this home is the location. You can see the downtown Asheville skyline from the side deck (more in winter when leaves are down), but the back yard feels woodsy with tons of birds, cicadas at night and lightning bugs in the summer. In the winter, less green, but a nicer view of the lights downtown! You can drive in about one minute to the Earthfare grocery store, a drugstore, deli and other amenities, or to Haywood Road, the main drag through West Asheville. We are on the same street as Shambala center and the Asheville School of Holistic Herbalism.
Street-side parking is located in front of the home. A shared washer and dryer are available in the basement of the home.

The owners live in the home. There is life and activity in the home. During sleeping times we ask that you keep conversation (especially in the kitchen) and kitchen noise volume to a minimum as the kitchen is adjacent to several bedrooms in the home. The owners also play Old Time Fiddle and banjo music so hopefully you like music! Feel free to join and listen, or ask if you need quiet time! We like to interact and meet you and help with advice on great places to eat, listen to music or great day activities. We love Asheville for the fantastic food, awesome breweries, its many amazing musicians, wonderful dance (including the contra dance, tango, salsa and swing dance scene) and other great things to do.
A sweet and older dog named Penny lives in the home. There are also three cats so if you have severe allergies to pets this home may not be right for you. The cats do spend a good portion of time in their own room and occasionally come out into the shared living areas. They do meow sometimes, bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper, just in case its a full moon!

Asheville has been awarded as Beer City USA and its for a reason, there are so many fantastic and delicious brew pubs and beer tours we suggest checking them out. You can walk down the road behind the house and be at the New Belgium Tasting room in 5 minutes or less!
A 10 to 15 minute drive to the East or South brings you to the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway, visit their website for info on hikes, waterfalls and scenic drives.
This is a NON smoking home!!! No Smoking Inside or Outside on the Property!!
It is nice to let each other know if there will be a noisy and late night! It doesn't usually bother us but as the home has some shared walls, its good to be respectful of nighttime hours. Some noise is unavoidable however, this is understood!
Asheville is really my favorite place I have ever experienced. I lived in Colorado for nearly 16 years, but when I visited Asheville I knew that I had to move here. I love playing music, dancing and going out to the wine bar in downtown Asheville. I'd love to be your hostess and give you advice and tips on the great things to do, places to eat, and music to hear in this vibrant town. I also love nature and the outdoors, so being at the congruence of three ancient and beautiful mountain ranges, and easy driving distance to hikes, mountain peaks and water falls, is perfect for me!
