Coming to Gainesville to watch a game, visit a student, or take a weekend class? This quite in-law suite is perfect. With it's own entrance, this room feels like an apartment. We are located on a bus line to UF and near restaurants, grocery stores, and locally-owned shops.
This is a newly remodeled 1960's home office area that has been turned into an in-law suite. We have tried to retain part of the character of the old office by keeping part of the floor boards that are mounted to the walls in place. The bathroom is completely new and boasts a handicap accessible shower.
The private entrance to the suite is located around the back of the house. You are welcome to explore our gated backyard.

The Quiet Retreat is quiet in the evenings and at night because we are a family with young children. During the day, the Quiet Retreat is not so quiet, as would be expected in a home with kids. If you plan to sleep in, please, be aware of this. We will try to keep things quiet until 9am.
I will normally be home most of the time during your stay. If you need anything or have any questions, I am happy to help.
I am a stay-at-home mom to my two daughters. I enjoy volunteer teaching English as a second language and book groups for English learners. My family has recently moved back to the USA after living in Europe for the last 10 years, so I understand how hard it can be for others to live in a country where they don't speak the language well.
While living in Europe, our family traveled a lot. Our traveling has slowed down a bit since moving back to the USA. Instead we now enjoy discovering all the local delights that Gainesville and the surrounding areas have to offer.
We have learned during our travels that a good host is someone who values your privacy but is accessible if a question or need arises. This is our goal as your host.
We hope you enjoy your stay in Gainesville!
