Private room with double bed in nice and clean 110 square meter 2 bedroom house in the "Bo-kaap" in the heart of the city - a 3 minute walk from Bree str which is one of Cape Town's most vibey streets regarding bars and restaurants and cafe's.
There are many nice restaurants, bars and coffee shops literally about 200m from my door, a little corner-shop selling basic's, a cute coffee-shop/cafe and more a minute's walk from your front door. The house itself is a nice, clean and comfortable house with all the extra's you might need. (Except tv) I have a cap-less wifi internet-connection so you can surf the net without limitations or extra costs. There is one bathroom with bath and shower, a big kitchen (with a proper espresso machine), 3 bedrooms (2 guestrooms), an outside courtyard that is connected to the open-plan kitchen/living area, and in front of the house a lovely little patio on the street with morning sun - a great spot to sit and enjoy a morning coffee watching the tourists strolling past on their Bo-Kaap walking tours.
NB: Please note that your bedroom has a double-bed so you are welcome to book for 2 people as long as you are comfortable to share the bed.
I am working in the photographic/production industry which means in our summer I'm mostly not at home from very early till late which mostly leaves you with the house to yourself. The house is super secure. Unfortunately here is only street-parking. I think that covers everything regarding the description. For your arrival I will normally leave your set of keys with Mohammed/Jasmine at the corner-shop a couple of meters down the street, or at my friendly Neighbour, Shahida, since I'm mostly not in during the day. (Jasmine and Mohammed from the cornershop also does shuttling to- and from the airport at R200 per trip. If you might require their friendly service you can arrange that directly with them via sms on +(PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN).)
I am pretty social and basically get along with everybody. Although my first language is Afrikaans I'm fluent in English, and also German since I've been visiting there (normally München) every winter (European summer) for the last 14 years, working as a photo-assistant mainly for BMW. I love traveling and have been to a total of 42 country's up to date and hope to increase that number… I love classical music, especially Bach. But that's enough about myself for now…
You are welcome to use anything in the house including the coffee beans. Feel free to plug your ipod/phone/computer into the amp if you would like to listen to some tunes on the stereo. Wifi password is on the fridge. ("Moz@rt44106")
Spending time with my guests depends on many factors but with some guests I have hardly spent 5 minutes where with others I have spent days with.
It's got more character than anywhere else in and around Cape Town and is also close to most that the city has to offer.
Super easy access to everything - you are in the city bowl.
I won't go into details here. Just treat the house and it's belongings as if it was your own. If you're a smoker you're also more than welcome but keep it outside in the courtyard or on the patio. And sorry - no pets.
Hi, I'm a photographer living in Cape Town but also spend a couple of months in Europe each year. (Germany mostly).
For a more personal insight on myself I'll mention a couple of random things that I like: Good coffee, good wine, good sound, classical musicians in action, German-made things, the Autobahn, nerds, humility in people, in-flight movies, traveling (Been to close to 50 countries and counting), camping, adventure (see my blog under for info and photo's on my completed Germany to Cape Town motorbike trip), to sing in a choir, to play the piano, dogs, flowers, and above all, JS Bach's music.
