This clean and bright West Asheville efficiency HOMESTAY is a convenient 5 minute drive to downtown Asheville or Haywood Road, West Asheville; close to breweries, music venues and amazing restaurants.
Located in a cozy and well kept older home (110 years old!), the apartment is a fully furnished bedroom (queen size bed), small kitchen and bath, with linens and towels provided and high speed wireless internet.
The best thing about this home is the location. You can see the downtown Asheville skyline from the side deck (more in winter when leaves are down), but the back yard feels woodsy with tons of birds, cicadas at night and lightning bugs in the summer. In the winter, less green, but a nicer view of the lights downtown! You can drive in about one minute to the Earthfare grocery store, a drugstore, deli and other amenities, or to Haywood Road, the main drag through West Asheville. We are on the same street as Shambala center and the Asheville School of Holistic Herbalism.
Guests have their own staircase at the back of the home to a shared deck and private entrance. A garden path and stone staircase accesses the back of the house, there is no stair railing, but there are solar lights and motion sensor light at night. If you arrive at night please go slowly until the motion sensor comes on, and use your cell phone flashlight if needed. It can be pretty dark at night! Street-side parking is located in front of the home, or let me know if you'd like the driveway instead. A shared washer and dryer are available in the basement of the home. Please note that there are small steps up or down between each room due to age of the home. As you enter the apartment, please be aware that there is a step down from outside to inside.

Asheville has been awarded as Beer City USA and its for a reason, there are so many fantastic and delicious brew pubs and beer tours we suggest checking them out. You can walk down the road behind the house and be at the New Belgium Tasting room in 5 minutes or less!
A 10 to 15 minute drive to the East or South brings you to the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway, visit their website for info on hikes, waterfalls and scenic drives.
This is a NON smoking home!!! No Smoking Inside or Outside on the Property!!
You will hear some kitchen noises and voices through the shared kitchen wall, but we are respectful of nighttime quiet hours.
The owners live in the other side of the home. There is a shared, lock off door between the two sections that will remain locked. There is life and activity in the home, not exactly sound proof so you we will hear some voices, and kitchen noises as the kitchens are back to back. The owners also play Old Time Fiddle and banjo music from time to time during the day. We can interact and meet you and help with advice on great places to eat, listen to music or great day activities, or you can maintain your privacy. We love Asheville for the fantastic food, awesome breweries, its many amazing musicians, wonderful dance (including the contra dance, salsa, tango and swing dance scene) and other great things to do.
We have cats so if you have severe allergies to pets this home may not be right for you. The cats do not live on the apartment side of the house.
Asheville is really my favorite place I have ever experienced. I lived in Colorado for nearly 16 years, but when I visited Asheville I knew that I had to move here. I love playing music, dancing and going out to the wine bar in downtown Asheville. I'd love to be your hostess and give you advice and tips on the great things to do, places to eat, and music to hear in this vibrant town. I also love nature and the outdoors, so being at the congruence of three ancient and beautiful mountain ranges, and easy driving distance to hikes, mountain peaks and water falls, is perfect for me!
