***Please save yourself some time by reading the whole description before sending inquiries like "How long does it take to get downtown?" Or "Is there parking?" Or "Is this a room or whole apartment?" Please read on the answers to all (or mostly all) of your questions awaits ...........
This is a rustic (read - old) seaside home on a private cul de sac next to the water, think of it as that cottage you would visit on the lake as a kid, old creaky but full of charm - yeah its like that.
If shiny, new and squeaky clean is your thing this may not be the place for you but that's ok!
The room is small but fits a queen size bed that is brand new as of October 2016, a desk, an antique dresser with a closet to hang suits and dresses with plenty of extra blankets in it as well.
There is a bathroom that is shared with us - two female working professionals and there is another half bath on the first floor as well
Bo is our professional greeter Golden Retriever who is happy to meet you at the door with his tail wagging.
A housekeeper cleans the whole place top to bottom every other week and your sheets will be freshly clean with subtle hints of Downey - same with the towels.
Kitchen is fine to use as long as you clean up after yourself.
We have a beautiful deck with a patio table and chairs it has a nice view of my gardens, the Elks Club Marina, the Winthrop water tower and the Elks parking lot but I like to look beyond that.
The house is on a private cul de sac so you can park your car right out front and never have to worry about the street cleaning shuffle or parking tickets
We hope to have seasoned travelers or business professionals visiting for work/conferences. Having an agenda and things to do while you're here are our preference for hosting guests.
If you are hoping to book long term - over a week to several months we prefer a single person rather than two people. Sorry we can't accommodate more than one person for longer term stays.

We have some sticky doors on the bathroom and bedroom - Rustic! But they just need the knob turned all the way around and a firm nudge. No need to slam.
There is a window in the shower we encourage you to close the shower curtain across it to keep the windowsill preserved and well privacy too I guess.
The following are several important things we ask our guests to acknowledge and agree to
Please make sure the front and back doors/screen doors are latched when you close them. One of our guests didn't latch the back door and it can get very windy next to the water so our door was open all night which in turn caused the house to freeze and made our heat go into overdrive. Please make sure you pull the screen doors tightly closed and push the regular door closed until you hear it latch.
Please do not leave wet towels on the bed or furniture. Furniture includes - bed, desk, chair, dresser, basket, heater, fan, and stool. There are hooks on the back of the door please hang your wet towels on the hooks on the back of the door. Please do not put your wet towels on the furniture. A previous guest left a wet towel on the antique dresser and it caused a green discoloration on the wood.
While we understand you're on vacation during the week we're working hard and the best part of coming home is to be able to kick our feet up in front of the TV after a long days work. Please understand that your room is for your leisure use and during the nicer months our backyard and deck as well (or heck maybe even the beach at the end of the road) But lounging in our living room keeps us from unwinding after a long day. We hope you understand.
As mentioned in the description this is an old house with sticky doors namely the bathroom and bedroom doors. Please do not try force the doors closed as it causes them to slam and then become stuck which in turn causes a whole lotta noise for nothing. Please close the doors just enough to feel it stick. No one will ever enter the bathroom or bedroom while the door is closed like this. No need to force it.
Check out is at 11am please make sure you've cleared out of the room by then to allow us to clean it and get it ready for the next guest. If you need to leave your luggage and get it later on that's not a problem just let us know.
There is a sheet of paper that is left on the bed with all pertinent info such as wifi, nearby restaurants, transportation ect. Please read upon arrival. Any texts, emails, calls with questions that are answered on that sheet of paper there will be a $1 fee - just kidding (but not really).
We expect that you are competent travelers that will look into your transportation and plan accordingly. 1am phone calls requesting Danielle to pick you up in some far off area are strongly discouraged.
We think that covers it! Have a nice stay!
