Wine, Wilderness, Waves. This Ocean Retreat Cottage is located across the street from gorgeous Spring Ranch on the Pacific Ocean with miles of coastal hiking out the front door. Located a mile from the Mendocino Village. Come get away, relax, hike, taste some of the finest Nor Cal wine, whale watch, forage for mushrooms, kayak rivers and ocean caves, surf some of Nor Cal's best waves, dive, and photograph some of the worlds finest sunsets, moonscapes, landscapes, wildlife, and wildflowers.
Mendocino is a bit remote; easiest airports to fly in to are either San Francisco (~3.5 hour drive) or Santa Rosa (~2 hour drive); you drive through a very gorgeous winding road hwy 128 to get to Mendocino through vinyards and redwoods until you get to the coast. Mendocino is a destination spot for adventurous travelers who love the great outdoors. There is a private airport Little River about 10 miles from the house but you would need your own plane to fly in/out of.
Our home is located across the street from the pacific ocean and spring ranch section of Van Damme state park. We are 1 mile from village of Mendocino and ~10 miles from Fort Bragg where there is a hospital and other convenient places like Botanical Gardens, Big Grocery stores, etc..
The entire top apartment of the home is for you to enjoy; it has a full kitchen, 2 bedrooms, an updated bath, and spacious living area. We are still renovating the downstairs so this area not in use at the moment.

We likely are not going to be around when you are here as we have relocated to Southern California for employment. We have a few friends who are helping us guest host. We are reachable by phone and will have alternate numbers for you should you have any difficulties.
- Please respect our home as if it were your own.
-The fireplace and deck off the living room are not available for use currently as under repair. Please feel free to use items in the house while you are here, and please leave them here when you go.
-The small square flat deck outside of the house near the water pump house by the creek is not safe, so is off limits to go on. We have put plants around as a barrier and a sign to keep off. There is a water tank under it and structure may not be sound.
- Also, there are our lovely awesome neighbors, so please make sure to have quiet hours 11 pm until 7 am, however if it's the weekend and you are chillin with the bonfire, just be respectful and watch the stars until the fire burns out....safely and quietly
- Please make sure if you have a bonfire that there is not a burn permit required. Fire is to be respected and watched.
-Please do your dishes before you leave; there is a dishwasher for your convenience.
-Please watch after your children; our home and land are not completely childproof (whatever that means) so we leave it up to you to keep your children safe while protecting our home.
-Our home only holds up to six persons (including infants and toddlers, we consider them people too)
-Please flush only toilet paper down the toilet as we have septic tank who would be grateful. Also please don't put a lot of waste down the garbage disposal, same reason.
-There are solar outdoor sensor lights; the switch is in the corner of the living room by the linen drapes, please leave that switch ON so the sensor lights stay on for others who may be arriving.
-Please separate your garbage and recycling.
- Check in is at 3 pm; Check out is by 11 am.
We love to be outside in nature, hike, go wine tasting in the beautiful valley, cook and eat delicious meals. I'm a dietitian and yoga teacher; Todd is an engineer. We live in Southern California now due to Todd's job, however we call Mendocino our home and are passionate about coming back and fixing up our home and creating more beauty and kindness in the world. Walking the rugged coastline, admiring the natural beauty of the land and sea is one of our favorite past times! We really hope you love it here too and are able to relax and destress from everyday life.
