To let is a fantastic five bed roomed house at the Shore area of Leith .The house is a beautifully presented property which would be an ideal base for large groups or families visiting Edinburgh. The house can be rented on a weekend, weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis. There are four double bedrooms and a fifth room with three single beds. For larger parties there is also a double futon bed in the largest bedroom which could be used and another comfortable camp bed easily set up in these rooms .
The house is minutes from the Shore area of Leith . The shore is regarded as one of Edinburgh's most attractive and vibrant areas with friendly independent bars, coffee houses and many of Edinburgh's, if not Scotland's, most famous restaurants. These include Michelin starred Martin Wisharts and The Kitchin, along with a number of great seafood restaurants which reflects Leith's strong maritime tradition. Other amenities ten minutes from the house include a swimming pool, post office, supermarkets and a 10 screen cinema and shopping centre.
At the same time, we are only about twenty minutes by bus from the centre of Edinburgh and its innumerable attractions. These services, the 22 and 16, run frequently day and night from stops minutes from the house, allowing our guests to have the best of both worlds on their visit to the city.
Myself and partner Janice will be your hosts during your visit. We are a friendly and helpful couple who have lived in Leith for many years, and look forward to directing you to the best sites and making your visit as enjoyable and comfortable as possible.
During your stay here you will have full access / use of the following facilities:
- A large professional kitchen with modern appliances (i.e.
cooker, fridge freezer, coffee pot ,microwave, etc.)
- A bathroom with bath and overhead shower
- A second shower room
- A comfortable, cosy TV room with DVD player
- A second large living room with coal fire for the winter !
- wifi internet access throughout the house
- Free on -street parking close tothe house
- Access to washing machine
We feel that our house is a warm comfortable base for exploring Edinburgh; close enough to all the world famous attractions that the city has to offer, while also having the advantage of being right in the middle of one of its most distinctive and vibrant areas. We look forward to welcoming guests and helping them enjoy their stay in this great city.
Guests have full access to all the house amenities . Towels, basic toiletries, washing machine etc.
The house is also our home, so we do trust our guests to enjoy our books , art work etc for what they are - our personal things.

We generally welcome our guests on arrival, hand over keys, show them around the house, and pass on handy hints about the locality and what it has to offer.
Once done, the house is then yours to enjoy knowing that we are only a 'phone call away for any questions or advise that might be needed.

Please note that access to the house is one flight up a curved stair way from street level which could cause problems to those with poor mobility. Please note, we require a minimum stay of four nights throughout August.
Please be respectful to our house. We think it is a beautiful home.
Please be respectful of others when coming back to the house late at night.
The floors in the sitting rooms are lovely and wooden.Please no stiletto shoes.
Please DO NOT move the furniture around in the big sitting room! The floorboards scratch and mark easily.Scratches can not be removed without sanding,which is both expensive and damaging to the floor
Strictly no smoking in the room. If you wish to smoke, you can do so in the garden downstairs.
Please leave the home as you would wish to find it. Generally our guests show us respect on this matter and will make an effort to tidy up and leave the house as they found it, so we don't charge a cleaning fee.
However, if we come back to dirty/disrespected house, then we will charge a 40.00 cleaning fee, which will be claimed from the deposit.
I am friendly and enjoy loads in life. this includes hillwalking and backpacking in the Scottish Highlands, bird watching, listening to music and seeing bands/going dancing and reading. My favourite food is Italian done well and i've travelled in the states and Europe. San Francisco, Paris, Amsterdam and Italy have been highlights.
I was born in Edinburgh and love showing people around the city. I also have an in depth knowledge of the Scottish Highlands having climbed the hills there for many years. I'm happy to pass my knowledge of Scotland, Edinburgh and it's history on to guests .
