Stay in a restored traditional village house in a walled garden and orchard. Great hospitality and views. Walk into the hills from the front gate. Tasty food provided, if wished.
After more than 10 years living in a beautiful part of southern Kosovo, we decided to renovate an old house, rebuild a fallen-down barn and share this wonderful setting with others. Hangjik ("Little Inn") has two suites ("Apple" and "Cherry") in the old house and a further bedroom/en suite/lounge and kitchen diner in the old barn ("pleme"). All bedrooms consist of twin or king sized beds with extra sleeping space available in the lounge areas of the suites, to a maximum of 4 people per suite. In the old house there is a communal kitchen, sitting room and dining area. Flexible arrangements are available regarding food from fully catered- for to fully self-catering. (Search using "Hangjik" or message me for more information on this).
Hangjik is in a quiet village with amazing mountain views and plenty of walks into wooded hills right on the doorstep. The walled garden which is part of Hangjik provides privacy and pleasure for the eyes with old fruit trees, plenty of flowers and a productive vegetable garden.
The nearby town of Kacanik is approximately one hour by car or two hours by bus and train from the capital cities of Pristina in Kosovo and Skopje in Macedonia. There is a lively cafe culture locally, with good eating places easily available.
We offer a good stopping off place for a short break or a longer stay. To our knowledge there is no other place quite like Hangjik in Kosovo and possibly further beyond. Search using "Hangjik" for more information.
Airport transit can be arranged if required.
Staying in the Apple Suite gives guests access to the dining room, kitchen and living room. There is only one other suite in the house so the common space is never too busy. Guests are also welcome to relax in the outdoor spaces of the orchard and flower garden.

At times, Alan and I won't be in Kosovo. However, Kadrije and Nazmi, our Hangjik partners and always there to welcome guests and be on hand if required.
In accordance with local custom, outdoor shoes are left at the door. Slippers are provided, if required.
Hangjik is a totally no-smoking establishment.
Pets are allowed but we ask for 5 Euros to cover extra cleaning.
I am a doctor working voluntarily in Kosovo where I live with my husband, Alan. We have three children and one gorgeous granddaughter who are all in the UK but come and see us regularly as they love the place here. We had the idea for developing Hangjik to share with others the wonderful hospitality, culture and countryside we have enjoyed for more than a decade now.
