Mark is a cheerful, welcoming host.
The location is easy to find, 5 minute walk to the beach, quiet and quite secluded. It is a good value.
I do want to point out a few of things that other reviewers did not mention that might help you know what to expect.
Again, great host. Place was super clean, bed was comfortable, nice sheets. I travel with my own pillow so can't say how his pillows were.
I found a towel in the living room with the beach towels that I used for bathing.
Sofa and chair comfortable, and there is a bench on the porch.
Those will be the only places for you to sit, or lay. Unfortunately for me, it rained the evening I stayed there, and I had no option but to sit inside on the sofa instead of out under the covered porch enjoying the fresh cool air, which would've been lovely and refreshing.
Another issue is the lack side/coffee tables. In the living room I had to put my books, snack, glass of wine on the floor. In the bedroom there is only the bed. No place to put my eyeglasses (blind without them), phone, book; there is no place to put your clothing, except keep it in your suitcase, because there is no dresser, no hooks, no hanger, no closet. Only a bed.
There are no curtains anywhere either, so if you don't like to wake up with the sun, you might have to find something to drape over the window. (luckily I love to wake up at dawn).
There is no way to listen to music, no internet, no tv. And if that's what you like, then thats great. I'm just giving you a heads up because these details are missing from the reviews and they might help you figure out if it's the place for you.
When someone described it as sparse, indeed that's a good description. I was thinking more along the lines of simple, but sufficiently furnished, which would appeal to me, as well as someone else, more.
