Our property is located in the Storm Mountain Community of Drake, CO. It is at 7,000 feet and to get here you drive up an access road for 1,000 feet with beautiful views of surrounding mountains and ravines. It is a beautiful, peaceful community. There are two bedrooms available (no additional charge for detached guest room) to accommodate 4 people.
Our house is nestled in a valley with mountains surrounding the property. It is a community with neighbors close by but not too close. It is unique in that we are off the beaten path but have access to all city conveniences within a half hour drive. There is road construction on Hwy. 34 between Loveland and Estes Park but there will be times to pass through this Big Thompson Canyon area. Just ask us for the schedule.
You will have access to two bedrooms; (1) a walk-out lower level efficiency room which has a Murphy bed (queen size), newly remodeled full bathroom with walk-in shower (no tub), 42" HD TV with surround sound, and a kitchenette with a half size refrigerator, separate freezer unit, microwave (no stove top or oven or sink), and coffee maker, and (2) a guest room with queen bed, half bath, 25" HD TV/monitor, computer with keyboard, and coffee maker. The decks are available for lounging, watching the wildlife and cooking on the grill. A fire pit is available for roasting hot dogs, marshmallows and making s'mores if there is no fire ban on at the time of your stay. We provide the wood for the fire.
Άλλα στοιχεία προς σημείωση
There is a parking space near the lower level room with a private entrance. The detached guest room has an upper level parking space and a private entrance.
Note: In early October 2017 until mid-May 2018 Hwy. 34 between Loveland and Estes Park will be closed for construction. However, our house can be reached by Hwy 43 between Estes Park and Drake by way of Glen Haven.
Clean sheets and towels will be provided. If your stay is for 7 to 14 days they will be laundered once a week. If you bring a dog please clean up his/her messes. No dogs on the furniture. During the spring, summer and fall no food should be left outdoors or in your car because bears have been known to wander around houses looking for food or break into cars to get food.
We will be in the upper level and available to help with any questions and suggest area activities. A washer and dryer is available upon request.
We retired several years ago. We bought our property, built the house and moved here full time in 2012. We love gardening, landscaping, hiking in the mountains and taking walks and visiting friends in our community.
