Alternatively, continuing north in Via Verdi, go to Via Brera and the Pinacoteca di Brera , one of the most famous and celebrated art galleries in the world. Mantegna, Giovanni Bellini , Raphael, Piero della Francesca and Caravaggio are some of the artists whose work is exhibited in this gallery.
Another option is to walk north -west from the Duomo in Via Mercanti , which becomes a pedestrian street in Via Dante. This takes you to the Sforzesco Castle, home of the Lords of the Renaissance in Milan. The castle now houses several museums that are worth visiting . It ' also a memorable experience simply take a stroll around the castle .
