I love to meet new people, especially when their backgrounds are different from my own. I'm happy to share a meal, a glass of wine, or a cup of tea, if our schedules align! I'll be sure to point out all of my favorite spots in the area, so you'll be sure to have a real NY experience during your stay! Depending on the timing of your trip, I may be out of town, but if I am, my lovely roommate Cyrine will be around the apartment, so you'll be sharing with her. She's also quite friendly and enjoys meeting travelers. Basically, at any given time one of us will be around to address any problems you may have, to give suggestions, and to greet you when you arrive.
I ask that there be no smoking (or 420) in the apartment.
I am beyond happy to share the common spaces (living room and kitchen) with you. I just ask that you do not spread out in the living room to sleep, as I'd rather the couch remain available for use by everyone in the apartment, rather than becoming an additional bedroom! There is room in the bedroom for two guests, but if you're uncomfortable sharing a bed with your traveling companion, this is probably not the best rental for the two of you.
I'm an director and teacher. I've been living in NY for a couple of years--originally from the California Bay Area. I enjoy cooking, hosting dinner parties, and going to the theater.
I'm lucky enough to have traveled a lot, but somehow it never seems like enough! So far, the cities that I feel most at home in are London and Paris. The most beautiful cities I've seen are Edinburgh, Prague, and Valencia. I'm always torn between going new places and revisiting the ones that I've fallen in love with, particularly after I've gotten to know people there, and developed some "locals,"--bakeries, farmers markets, pubs, restaurants.
