The beauty of Casa Callista is not only in the peace and tranquility of the nature that surrounds you, but in its accessibility to so many of the wonders of our island. You can stroll down the green lane to the lively village where you will find cafes, a post office (with cash machine), restaurants, bakeries, pharmacy, doctors and dentist, butcher shop, fish shop, mini-supermarket, and more. Or drive 5 or 10 minutes to the nearby lovely beaches of Pinarello and Fautea; and pristine mountain pools on the River Cavu. At the beaches, you will find sunbeds and cafes, but also sailing, diving and other water sports. Twenty minutes north is the entrance to the magnificent Col de Bavella Nature Reserve with it's rugged, dramatic mountains, cliffs and rock formations, and more natural pools for swimming, not to mention canyoning!! Fifteen minutes to the south is the vibrant modern/ancient town of Porto Vecchio with its charming Old Town and boutiques, bars, discos, and gourmet restaurants, not to mention a superb marina with boats to rent or boat tours to outlying islands and dive tours. Bonafacio, The City on the Cliffs, is only 40 minutes south and truly a marvel, not to be missed. You can take a boat ride through the sea caves and grottos or even hop a ferry for a day in Sardinia. After any busy day out, how divine it is to return to the utter quiet and green of your villa at Casa Callista. And perhaps an evening swim as the sun goes down over the mountains. NOTE: Please see our other listing - Casa Callista West - for many more photos of the pool and the interior!
