Enjoy your morning coffee on the covered patio, big yard for your pet, there is ducted air conditioning throughout the whole house & gas heating if need it.

Stay on the opalfields, off grid and next door to the iconic Ridge Castle. Deceptively rustic from the outside, the Knights Quarters is an elegant open plan apartment featuring a full sized kitchen, large bathroom and a Queen and King single bed with luxe organic cotton linen. Enjoy the views and relax by the fire-pit (byo wood) under billions of stars. This is a genuine camp on the Ridge with solar power so has no heating or air-conditioning, there are fans for summer and blankets for winter.

Cara-Glamping, Comfy Beds for 3 & Fossicking

Find opal at the back door and go wifi free in our renovated caravan, aptly named THE Tardis! 2 comfy beds (double + single), air con & heating and basic cooking facilities and access to bbq and garden - be delighted by this unique opalfield 'cara-camping' retreat. A short drive to town and attractions, located on a working -no chemical- food forest & home to mining operations. Expect good chats, machinery, resource piles, cobwebs, dust, frogs & bugs! We can't accommodate pets or Princesses!

The Old School House

Come and stay in The Old School House at Lightning Ridge – circa 1912, relocated from town to the Three Mile opal field. It’s in a great position with bitumen road and 500 meters on a gravel road used by miners. Nestled in bush land, with kangaroos, birds and amazing night skies. This is not your luxury getaway, but a unique experience steeped in history on the opal fields of Lightning Ridge with warm hospitality. There is air conditioning in every room. "Bagala Cottage" 5 star comfort on an opal field!

Treat yourself to a true 'ridge camp experience, while enjoying 5 star comfort, only 1.5ks from the town centre. A striking self contained cottage, completed January 2021, surrounded by established desert garden and native bushland. Super comfy inside and outside you can relax in the bush kitchen, enjoy a game of table tennis or watch a romantic sunset on the front verandah. Your privacy is assured however I live close by and am available to welcome you and answer any questions.

Potch Retreat

This is a fully self contained unit that will be your home away from home. The bedroom has a queen bed, ceiling fan, TV and built in robes. There is also an open plan living area featuring a sofa and a couple of single couches where you can relax and watch some TV. Full kitchen facilities allow you to cook up a storm and enjoy your meal at the dining table. Bathroom includes toilet, hot/cold shower and a wash basin. The Reverse Cycle A/C ensures a comfortable stay year round.

The Bimble Box - opal field retreat

The Bimble Box is a much loved opal miners' camp, built from stone, conveniently located and beautifully renovated to create a light-filled, open-plan interior with stunning views. Inside there's a relaxing lounge area, large dining/work table, modern kitchen and comfortable new beds. This beautiful little off-grid opal field home is solar powered, water conserving, clean, comfortable and just a short drive or leisurely walk to the shops, cafés and hot artesian baths.

Balima Eco Glamping Retreat

'Balima’ in our Yuwaalaraay Language meaning heaven, sky camp. You will have your own private campfire to relax around after exploring all that Lightning Ridge and our farm has to offer. Our open-air bathhouse, fitting with our landscape is unique with the finer touches to enjoy a hot shower or bath to relax before retiring to your retreat. Our Balima is the ideal location to base yourself to discover our region, time out with a friend or a couple's retreat.

Comfy & Spacious 3 Bedroom Private Home

Welcome to Lightning Ridge - Black Opal Country Our house is located at the Edge of Town in a quiet area which backs onto opal fields. The house is on a large private block and is a 1-2 minute drive to the shops and post office. The home is fully furnished, and has a Tranquil garden next to the freestanding pergola with outdoor setting. We have 3 airconditioners for you to enjoy inside the house.

The Albatross

Boutique accommodation with Country Hospitality. Set on a 1/4 acre residential block in the outback, this modern tiny home/caravan, with a Bohéme twist is visited by our friendly chooks, has access to a vege garden (sometimes!), culinary herbs, a fire pit and is a skip away from the local bore baths, swimming pool and the culinary delights of the local Sporting Club and cafe.

The Holiday Hut: Town Centre

The Holiday Hut is located two minutes walking distance from the shops and sleeps up to six people with two double bedrooms and a sofa bed in the lounge area. The cleaning fee for pets is $50 per stay. It offers a rain shower and has limited air conditioning available as well as basic cooking facilities. Linen is provided as well as tea and coffee making facilities.
