A large south facing window in the main room overlooks the woodland garden and Shiplaw burn. There is a workspace/single bedroom for an extra guest. We are located within one of the biggest habitat restoration projects in Europe and are five minutes walk from a regular bus service to Edinburgh and across the Borders.

Barleydean Suite is situated in a private annex in a country house. At the edge of the Pentland Hills, you can hike from your front door, wander to the local pub or take a bus to Edinburgh. The suite has private access for guests. It has 1 bedroom with a super king-size bed for 2 guests. Up to 2 foldaway single beds can be provided on request. Maximum occupancy is 4 people. There is a kitchenette suitable for light cooking, with hob, microwave, Nespresso, toaster, and washing machine.

Ellwyn Garden Apartment

A smart 1 bedroomed apartment on the ground floor of a traditional detached property, situated in the town of Penicuik, 9 or 10 miles from the city centre of Edinburgh. The water tower is a bespoke home in an historic building sensitively converted by its architect owner. The tower is located in the historic town of Dalkeith and the settlement of Eskbank. 20 minutes by car from Edinburgh airport. A bus service into Edinburgh stops every 10- 15 minutes, the bus stop is a 2 minute walk away. 25 minutes by rail to the Scottish Borders or to the centre of Edinburgh from the local Eskbank Train Station, a 20 minute walk from the tower.
