Riverwood Hideaway

This OFF-GRID, solar powered hideaway is on the Knife River just a few miles outside of Two Harbors, Minnesota. THERE IS NO RUNNING WATER and LIMITED ELECTRICITY. WE DO HAVE WI-FI. The kitchen has a propane refrigerator and gas oven/stove. Solar power is used for lights and some outlets. Propane fireplace / furnace for heat. The "bathroom" is an outhouse. You bring jugs of drinking water. Hand and dish wash water provided. We supply coffee with pour over utensils, dishes, spices and firewood.

We are 3 miles from ABR Trails, 4 miles from Wolverine Ski Trails, 1 block from the snowmobile and bike trails, 1 mile from Miners Heritage Park, 18 miles from Black River Harbor, 10-15 miles from many downhill ski slopes and half a mile from downtown Ironwood. A foosball table is in the basement for some extra family fun. There also are games, books and puzzles in the living room. Final price includes the 15.5% Airbnb fees.

Come enjoy our vacation rental! We're in a great neighborhood - close to Duluth's Spirit Mountain skiing & biking, the retail district, and lots of things to do and see! The apartment has a large living room, huge deck, full kitchen, full bath, and two separate bedrooms. This is the upper unit in the building. As such, this isn't an appropriate space for anyone with little kids that run around - as it would detract from the experience for the guests below.

We are just steps from Lake Superior and 4.6 miles from the Meyers beach ice caves and hiking trail to over look the ice caves. In summer the caves can be seen by kayak or from the hiking trail. We are also located 20 minutes from Bayfield, Wisconsin and the ferry to Madeline Island. The Cornucopia Sweet Retreat is a no smoking / no pet space.
