Ballindooley Castle

The Castle rests on about half an acre of land with Ballindooley Lake lying to the south west. It is surrounded by low walls and hedges: with a gated entrance controlled by an electronic security system. Features include 3 murders holes and a dungeon The castle was built by the DeBurgo family (approximately 1480). It had the distinction of being shelled by the British Gunboat ” Helga” during the1916 Rising to disband rebels

Fully off grid experience including solar powered hot water and a modern Scandinavian dry (compost) toilet. The self catering apartment is located over the garage and separate from the main house with its own private entrance and is accessed by stairs. There are lots of activities to enjoy in the area, hiking, kayaking and various other water sports. There are many excellent golf courses close by.
