Castleton is lucky to have two great pubs The Downe Arms with fabulous food and atmosphere right across the road and The Eskdale which serves lovely ‘fine dining food’ but also lovely just for a drink. We are surrounded by hills and open countryside which fringe the unique open moors. It is also part of a collection of other 8 properties (previously a working farm) that can be booked individually or exclusively all together.

Enjoy lazy mornings at Woodpeckers Cottage Silpho as you watch the sun rise over the sea from the sofa. Take your dog to the field (exclusively yours throughout your stay). Walk the footpaths through fields & forests to valleys with streams and hilltops with views. Drive to dog friendly beaches, picnic on the sand and breathe in the sea air. Return to the dog field for afternoon tea or a glass of wine, where a bench for two in a peaceful sun trap provides panoramic views of the setting sun.

Outside is a part-walled, sandstone patio with table and chairs and a large field which you are welcome to access.

Many amazing walks can be enjoyed from right outside the door and the wonderful village pub and restaurant is only a few minutes walk away.

Old Forge in Wrelton, North Yorkshire.

This cottage, in the village of Wrelton near Pickering, was a 19th century blacksmith's forge and has now been renovated into a delightful living space complete with fully-equipped kitchen, large living room area, bathroom with walk-in shower and a cosy bedroom located on a mezzanine floor which is reached via a spiral staircase. The Old Forge offers a great location for a relaxing stay in beautiful North Yorkshire.
