Nestled between the peaceful seascape of Cockburn Sound and the lively streets of Fremantle, acclaimed by experts for its mouth-watering food and drinks, you’re never far away from a quick stroll to the beach to enjoy the sun on your face and sand beneath your feet.

Peaceful Hilltop Retreat

Escape to our cozy studio, a quiet hideaway set among the hills. Accessed via a gravel road, you will be surrounded by native trees and wildlife. With no WI-FI this retreat offers a genuine chance to slow down, switch off, and reconnect with nature. The retreat is located 50 minutes from Perth Airport. We live in the adjoining house on the property, so help is nearby if needed, while your accommodation remains private and self-contained. There is still 5G reception available at the suite.

Enjoy the tranquility of rurality but the convenience of being close to shops and amenities. Come hand feed the alpacas, sheep, chickens and ducks. Each booking will get one free container of animal feed. Pick eggs from the hens. All bookings include bed linen, towels, kitchen appliances. BYO food and drinks. Umatah means "you matter". Umatah to us, Umatah to yourself, Umatah to those around you and Umatah to the environment. Umatah is part of the original State Brick Works that was closed down in the 1940’s after their excavations hit an underground spring. The property runs on organic principles and has a mango orchard, apiary, vegetable wicking beds plus various other fruit and nut trees. There is a large waterhole, landscaped gardens and endless native bushland.
