The Barrett Cabin

Welcome to our cozy retreat located steps away from the shores of Lake Barrett. This charming cabin offers 3 bedrooms / 1 bathroom a perfect blend of comfort and rural beauty. Our property provides an open floor plan, kitchen, washer & dryer. Embrace the great outdoors with a variety of activities to enjoy; bird watching, fishing, roasting marshmallows by the fire or snowmobiling in the winter. Come and experience the beauty and serenity of our retreat, where a genuine Minnesota getaway awaits.

The Maynard Cabin, a Civil War era log cabin

The Maynard Log Cabin was erected by a homesteader after the civil war. We have moved and restored it and made it available for rent. It is off the grid, but it has a complete functioning kitchen, wood stove and sitting room downstairs. There are two antique beds with new mattresses upstairs. There is no electricity but the cabin is furnished with kerosene lanterns. The bathroom facilities consist of wash basins and outhouse. The cabin is surrounded by 40 acres of woods and meadows.

I live across the street & clean and sanitize, so I know it is done properly. Note: Optional (additional charge) game room available.

Open floor plan with 3 gas fireplaces and basement rec room. Master bath has double shower and Bubble tub. Sunsets are beautiful from the deck. The house does not have TV. WIFI is available for a $35 fee if you need it. Home sleeps 23 and there is a $20 per person fee per night above 8 guests.

Because the Cozy Cottage is located on the inside of peninsula, there is no direct access to the lake; however, there is a public dock and lake access approximately two blocks away. Big Stone Lake has something for everyone.

Appreciate the high end appliances and sunken shower big enough for two before falling into a cozy leather couch.
